I'm a Norwegian business developer / leader and venture capitalist specializing in energy management and production.
I have led several companies focused on developing small power plants throughout Norway.
My areas of expertise include business establishment and development, investment management, organizational structure, branding and identity, mergers and acquisitions, marketing and sales. I am a committed leader with proven experience in building and reorganizing companies, and my passion is strategic business development, sales management and leadership within organizations.
I was born and raised in Asker, Norway. Completed my bachelor's degree in military studies from the Norwegian Naval Academy in 1988.
Later earned a bachelor's degree in economics and administration (1997) and a master's degree in management from BI Business School (2000). In addition, I have further education from the Norwegian Armed Forces University College, which qualifies him for higher staff service in the Armed Forces. I am also an engineer from the Tinius Olsen Vocational School in Kongsberg.
Before starting my career in business, I served in the Norwegian Armed Forces nearly 20 years, including various positions in the Coastal Artillery and the Norwegian Navy, where I gained experience at all levels in complex organizations.
In January 2000, I began my civilian career as Marketing Director in a company focusing on maintenance / purchase / crewing / communication to the commercial fleet of the world., where I was responsible for the company's sales and marketing activities and implemented a global CRM system. In total over 50% of the floating commercial fleet used one or several software solutions from this company.
In 2002, I was positioned in Indonesia to engineer and build out the GSM network for the state owned telecom company TelComSel in Indonesia, where I was responsible for the entire Indonesian operation, including setting up new organizational structures, managing all aspects of the company and developing processes and procedures for the entire operation.
In 2005, I established my first energy company (Norges Småkraftverk AS), a start-up company specializing in the development of small hydropower projects in Norway. I sold my shares in 2006, and the company is now merged into Cloudberry (We provide clean renewable energy for the future generations – Cloudberry.
In 2009, I was hired as CSO at Norsk Grønnkraft AS. Here I was responsible for all sales activities - including identifying potential projects, negotiating and concluding agreements with landowners - and the development and start-up of hydropower plants across Norway. I was part of a team that grew the company to become one of the leading companies in the small hydropower market before it was sold to Aquila Capital in 2014.
