ABOUT ME
Lysberg (born 27 April 1965 in Asker) is a Norwegian business executive and venture capitalist who has specialized in energy management and energy production.
Lysberg has been CEO / COB of several renewable companies, which are specialized in small power power developments. The companies operate throughout Norway, and are helping landowners to finance, develop, design and build small hydropower plants.
Environmental commitment
Lysberg helped building up Elkem (Orkla)'s focus on small power plants, which was merged into Norsk Grønnkraft (NGK), then owned by Østfold Energi, Akershus Kraft, Glitre, EcO Hafslund and Orkla. After the sale of the hydro portfolio to Aquila Capital in 2014, Lysberg began as an independent facilitator working with landowners and investors to realize micro, mini and small power projects. Covering financing, application, technical design, building and operations.
In Norway, there are nearly 8,000 remaining rivers that can be developed, according to the Norwegian Water Resources and Energy Directorate. In total, this amounts to nearly 14 TWh in possible new hydropower production. Of all these projects, nearly 10 TWh are smaller projects that can be developed and ensure local value creation. This is very important contribution in creating values for the landowner, the municipality and county where the river flows, the region and Norway in general.
According to Statnett, power production in Norway must increase from 145 TWh annually to over 250 TWh annually.
Lysberg has also been working to retain Nøtterøy Haveby (Nøtterø Haveby – Wikipedia), and has worked hard with developers, municipal administration and others to retain the uniqueness of the area, which is now being carefully developed further
Lysberg is an experienced and reliable partner, with a solid background in the energy and power production industry. Lysberg offers expertise and resources to contribute to the sustainable and responsible development of power projects, to have them built and operated optimally in cooperation with the landowner. The basic idea with the landowners are that the landowner is active in development, operation and maintenance once the plant is built, precisely to ensure local value creation over time, but has no financial risk in order to develop their project. If the landowner is unable to do so, they focus on finding other local forces.
With its expertise in logistics, construction and planning, Lysberg helps to coordinate and implement small hydro power projects in an efficient manner. His previous experience in handling complex projects provides a good and broad basis for implementing a good project within budgets and timeframes.
Lysberg is also concerned with environmental and social considerations in developing these projects. He understands the importance of minimizing environmental impact and respecting local considerations in society and culture. He takes responsibility for handling these in a responsible manner.
Lysberg does not just work alone. He, together with his team and network, contributes extensive knowledge and skills within hydropower, and together they work closely with partners to ensure that the projects are implemented in a responsible and sustainable manner.
